2026 Funding Allocations
On February 17th, the Shawano Area United Way Board of Directors met to vote on funding allocations for this year's nonprofit organizations. We received 19 requests for a total of $103,000. Thanks to the Shawano Area’s generosity through our regular campaign activities and the CoVantage Cares Giving Tuesday Campaign, we had $42,000 of funds to distribute. These funds were split between 14 organizations who gathered to celebrate on March 2nd. Our process involved looking at the stated objective of each program and organization, comparing it to our stated mission as an organization, thinking through community need and impact, and then having verbal discussion prior to voting on the complete allocation amounts. Agencies receiving funding include:
-
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Shawano County
-
Boys and Girls Club of Shawano
-
The Community Clothes Closet
-
Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin
-
Junior Achievement of Wisconsin
-
Lutheran Counseling and Family Services - Shawano
-
Navarino Nature Center
-
Red River Riders
-
SAFPARC
-
Shawano Area Food Center
-
Shawano-Menominee Resiliency Coalition and Rise Wellness Recovery Center
-
St. Michael’s Food Pantry of Keshena
-
The F.R.E.S.H. Project
-
