Meet Dr. Kim Fenske, Ed.D., our newest Board Member at the Shawano Area United Way!
Kim is joining us from Pieper Electric, Inc. where she serves as a Leadership Coach! A newer resident to the Shawano area, she is coming to us with a plethora of previous nonprofit experience including service with:
- the Pillars Event Planning Committee
- Prevent Suicide – Fox Cities as a Board Member
- the Belonging Committee with Imagine Fox Cities
- Loaves and Fishes – Fox Valley Board of Directors Vice President
- the School Board for Freedom Area School District
- and various religious organizations over the years
When we asked her what brought her to United Way, she said:
"I have always been passionate about helping people feel connected, supported, and empowered to thrive. Throughout both my professional and volunteer experiences, I have seen how strong communities are built when organizations come together to meet real needs and create opportunities for people to grow. United Way’s focus on collaboration, community impact, and serving people across different stages of life deeply aligns with my personal values and purpose."
Kim is most excited to work on projects related to mental health, leadership development, and youth. She says, "I am especially passionate about initiatives connected to mental health, belonging, leadership development, and helping people discover purpose and hope. I care deeply about creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, and supported — particularly individuals who may be struggling, disconnected, or navigating difficult seasons of life. I also have a heart for mentoring, youth and emerging leader development, and creating meaningful places for people to gather, connect, and build community through authentic relationships and service."
Thank you, Kim, for joining us and sharing your passions with the Shawano Area! We're excited to learn and grow with you!
