Meet Our Newest Board Member!

Meet Winona Oshkeshequoam, our newest Board Member at the Shawano Area United Way!
Winona is joining us from the College of Menominee Nation where she serves as the Student Resource and Disability Services Manager! She is coming to us with a plethora of previous nonprofit experience including service with:
-
Orillia Native Women's Group
-
Community Action and Programs for Children Coordinator from 2012 to 2017
-
Indigenous Parenting Program Coordinator from 2017 to 2018
-
Vice President from 2020 to 2023
-
-
Biminaawzogin Regional Aboriginal Women's Circle as a Board Member from 2017 to 2019
-
Potawatomi of Neyaashiinigmiing as a volunteer Team Lead from 2017 to 2023
When we asked her what brought her to United Way, she said:
"It was meeting Uriah and hearing him share the work he and others were doing together at United Way. I also learned how much support United Way provides to the communities around. I am a helper by nature and tend to go where help is needed and where I might be able to help make the world a better place, commitment and compassion at the forefront. I also feel being connected to United Way might help nurture a relationship between United Way and the Menominee Tribe of Wisconsin."
Winona is most excited to help with funding opportunities, the Community Dinners program, and making connections that support United Way in our region!
Thank you, Winona, for joining us and sharing your passions with the Shawano Area! We're excited to learn and grow with you!
